Abstracts

We invite the scientific community to submit abstracts for presentation at the Total-Body PET (TBPET) 2026 conference, to be held at UC Davis from September 2–4, 2026. This international meeting will bring together researchers and clinicians advancing the frontiers of total-body PET imaging.

Key Dates

  • Abstract submission deadline: February 15, 2026
  • Travel awards nomination deadline: March 2, 2026
  • Date for notification of abstract acceptance: April 1, 2026
If you have not received the notification, please check your spam folder for a message from TBPET 2026 ([email protected]).
  • Estimated date for notification of oral or poster presentation: June 30, 2026

Abstract Submission Guidelines

TBPET 2026 uses Oxford Abstracts to manage all abstract submissions. You will need to sign in or create an Oxford Abstracts account using your email address. This email will be used for all conference and submission-related correspondence.

Submission Requirements

When completing the submission form, you will be asked to provide the following:

  • Title (maximum 50 words)
  • Abstract (maximum 500 words)
  • Authors and affiliations
  • Preferred presentation type
  • One figure may be uploaded and included with your abstract
Saving and Submitting

You may pause and return to your abstract at any time; however, you must click the SUBMIT button for your abstract to be considered complete. Abstracts that are not formally submitted will not be reviewed.

Modifications

You may revise your submitted abstract up until the submission deadline: February 15, 2026. After this deadline, no further changes can be made.

Presentation Types

Selected abstracts will be considered for:

  • Oral Presentations
  • Poster Presentations
  • Educational Exhibits

Outstanding abstracts from early career researchers may be selected for awards.

Focus Topics

Abstracts related to all aspects TBPET research and clinical application are welcome.  However, abstracts that employ dynamic TBPET imaging and kinetic modeling or other forms of quantification in human subjects are particularly encouraged to fit with the conference theme of “Imaging the Dynamics of Life”.

Focus topics include, but are not limited to:

  • Multi-organ and/or multi-system studies with TBPET
  • Human subjects research applications of TBPET
  • Clinical applications of TBPET
  • Preclinical research using TBPET
  • New tracer/drug development evaluated by TBPET
  • TBPET instrumentation and novel physics approaches with TBPET
  • New methodologies for TPBET including image quantification, image reconstruction and kinetic modeling
  • Quantitative dosimetry with TBPET

Presentation Categories

When you submit your abstract, you will be asked to select the most appropriate category:

  • Human - Research
  • Human - Clinical
  • Preclinical
  • Instrumentation
  • Kinetic Modeling / Analysis
  • Educational Exhibit

Educational Exhibit

A submission for Educational Exhibit should follow the same abstract submission format. It should help learners understand and apply key concepts related to the implementation of total-body PET/CT in clinical practice. Examples include comparisons between conventional and total-body PET images, along with characterization of pathologic or physiologic processes that are uniquely demonstrated with total-body imaging. Artifacts and pitfalls introduced by total-body scanning are also of interest and they should be presented with emphasis on their clinical relevance and how they affect image interpretation.

Abstract Policy

Abstracts submitted to TBPET 2026 should be original and accepted abstracts will be published in the conference proceedings. Topical overlap, and re-use of data that are submitted to other conferences is permitted. However, the abstract (including any figures) should be specifically targeted to the audience of TBPET 2026 and must be sufficiently different to support publication. Studies that have already appeared in peer-reviewed journals are not acceptable for abstract submission.

We are pleased to offer a limited number of travel awards for national and international presenters. To be considered, please have a nominator submitting their recommendation by March 2, 2026 using this link.
